Vanessa Tay - Senior Occupational Therapist
About Vanessa
Originally from Singapore, I relocated to Melbourne in 2014 to pursue further studies and have called Melbourne home ever since. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, I find joy in simple pleasures like strolling along the beach or in the park, immersing myself in the natural beauty, and discovering new areas with my family. Another source of happiness for me is cooking; witnessing my family and friends enjoy my culinary creations brings a smile to my face.
Vanessa's Experience
I embarked on my occupational therapy journey in 2018, starting in the community mental health sector and later transitioning into the aged care sector. My specialization spans both mental and physical health, recognizing the interconnectedness of these aspects in fostering an improved quality of life. My profound passion lies in supporting individuals to remain in their homes for as long as possible, achieved through the strategic application of assistive technology and ongoing therapeutic interventions. I am adept at conducting assessments and interventions in both English and Mandarin.

Michelle Faint - Senior Occupational Therapist
About Michelle
I grew up, studied, and started working in Queensland, only moving to Melbourne in January 2023. I have found my feet here in Fitzroy, with the Brisbane Lions being my AFL team. I am a bubbly person who enjoys hiking, sewing, and camping in my free time. I am also a qualified Yoga Teacher and love to travel / explore new places.
Michelle's Experience
I qualified as an OT in 2014, and since them have worked across multiple community and hospital settings both in Australia and in Central London. I started out in the disability sector, before moving into hospital acute rehab, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injuries. When living in London I predominately specialised in haematology, oncology, and HIV – all of which fatigue management is crucial. I also worked in the community sector in London empowering adults to achieve their goals at home. I am very passionate about supporting people’s independence, especially through use of appropriate assistive technology and home modifications. My enjoyment of facilitating home modifications transfers nicely into helping people find appropriate and accessible housing to meet their needs.

Heidi Fung- Occupational Therapist
About Heidi
Having spent my formative years in Hong Kong, where I completed my education and embarked on my career, I made the leap to Melbourne in May 2023. My interests lie in exploring new places, experimenting with culinary creations, and cherishing moments with my two daughters during our leisurely pursuits. I am proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Heidi's Experience
With over 13 years of experience as an OT, I have had the privilege of serving diverse communities and hospital environments in Hong Kong. My journey began in a dementia centre, where I provided invaluable support to individuals navigating the challenges of memory loss and cognitive decline within the community. Transitioning into hospital acute rehabilitation, I delved into specialized areas including Stroke, Neurology, Neurosurgery, General Medicine, Geriatrics, and Peadiatrics. This breadth of experience has honed my expertise in addressing a wide range of physical and cognitive needs across different age groups and medical conditions. I am profoundly passionate about assisting individuals in reaching their goals, enriching their quality of life, and nurturing fulfillment throughout their journey. This commitment includes engaging them in meaningful activities, employing suitable assistive technology, and facilitating essential home modifications.

Ferne Maycock - Senior Physiotherapist
About Ferne
Originally from the UK, I swapped the busy streets of London for the charm of St Kilda Beach, moving to Melbourne in 2023 with my partner and our little dog. Since settling here, I’ve fallen in love with the Aussie lifestyle and the many beautiful places. I’m now proud to call Australia home, having recently been granted permanent residency. I have a passion for the outdoors and enjoy exploring all that Melbourne (and beyond) has to offer. I’m a friendly and approachable person who enjoys meeting new people, which is one of the many reasons I find working within the NDIS so fulfilling and rewarding.
Ferne's Experience
I graduated as a physiotherapist in 2013 and have developed a broad range of skills and knowledge to support individuals with physical challenges. After gaining experience across various healthcare settings, I chose to specialise in community-based physiotherapy, drawn by the variety it offers in everyday practice. Before moving to Melbourne, I worked as a senior community rehab physio in central London, specialising in falls prevention, neuro, and mental health for people living at home. This role involved close collaboration with occupational therapists, giving me valuable experience in assessing AT needs and completing OT-style assessments where appropriate, something I remain passionate in continuing. Hydrotherapy is also a passion of mine, as it offers individuals a unique sense of freedom in movement, not to mention lots of fun. I have now been working within the NDIS for over two years and can honestly say I’ve never enjoyed a role more. I’ve undertaken specialist training in both hydrotherapy and disability, further enhancing my capability and confidence in supporting NDIS participants to achieve their goals.
